About the Pub

The Black Swan is located in the rural village of Ashover, Derbyshire, close to the Peak District National Park. The pub is a delightful character property steeped in history, and is very popular with locals and tourists. Boasting a cosy lounge area with a real open fire, a central bar, rasied dinign area and a separate snug, the Black Swan caters for all occasions. There is a small commercial kitchen capable of delivering quality pub food to meet the demand of the trade. The function room upstairs is accessed by an internal staircase and can accommodate up to 50 guests. There is a separate trade kitchen to serve the function room and it is suitable for all occasions, including weddings. There are approx 25 external covers in a recently invested beer garden which has both covered and uncovered seating. The trade has a seasonal element, picking up in the spring/summer. The area is popular with walkers as there are many fantastic walking trails and paths throughout the Peak District. There are two other pubs in the village – the Old Poets Corner, a Titanic Brewery pub, and the Crispin Inn a Marstons operator led pub 100m away. The Black Swan is the only pub with a designated external trading area.
