About the Pub

Originating from the 1720's and rebuilt in the 1800s, this grade II listed building sits proudly on the banks of the River Medway and is steeped in military and naval history. Along with its history it has so many period features, bags of character and a fantastic outside seating that enjoys majestic views over the River Medway. Recently refurbished but keeping all of its traditional charm firmly in place to make the most of this historic building and its unrivalled location Command House is a turnkey operation ready to go and really is an opportunity not to be missed!

Inside, Command House is all about marrying traditional character with modern style. The building boasts features including brick vaulted ceilings in the basement bar, recessed windows and period tile and flagstone floors. The Command House is, however, not a relic of the past. An eclectic mix of old and new come together to create a warm, welcoming environment. With seating options at every turn, from quiet, secluded nooks to family tables – there is the perfect space for every get-together.

Walk up the front steps and enter the main bar on the first floor the bar servery is immediately in front of you set out along the rear wall. This front area of the main bar is quite open and airy and is flanked at either side by open real fires, to the left past the chimney breast there is more formal lay out in a dining style whilst to the right side of the main bar has a more casual feel. In total there are 100+ covers across a mix seating and table options that in all create a varied environment suiting differing occasions. The fully fitted comprehensive trade kitchen is on this level behind the main bar servery.

The lower ground floor has a rustic 'cellar' feel with exposed brickwork and a flagstone flooring, with pillars and arches creating a unique environment. This area benefits from its own entrance and toilets, allowing it to be used as a separate bar area or for private functions all year round.

Outside, the generous garden area has its own bar which has its own dedicated beer cellar. A mix of 8, 6 and 4 seat traditional picnic-style tables allow for over 200 external covers!

There is no car park for the pub, however there is a public pay and display car park adjacent.
