The Greyhound is a large traditional community pub located in the Hedworth area of Jarrow circa six miles south west of central South Shields. The pub offers a bar with a separate games area for pool and darts, a lounge area and separate function room which are all decorated in a traditional style. The pub does not currently offer food but has a small but adequate catering kitchen with all the equipment necessary to support the type of food offer that is thought likely to be successful. Externally, the pub has a large car park to the front and a large enclosed grassed beer garden to the rear, which can also be accessed from the bar and function room. The pub has a big screen, to showcase football and sporting events and also plays host to pool and darts teams and has a popular quiz night.
