The Jolly Carter is located on a busy road in Little Lever, in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. The area is residential, with several local businesses close by, and Leverhulme Park, a popular destination, is only 1.6 kilometres away. The pub itself, like many traditional British establishments, serves as a local community hub where people currently gather for drinks, social events, and to dine.

Internally, the pub is split into three distinct trading areas, comprising a games room and a lounge area, both being served by a central bar, along with a good-sized restaurant with its own bar, making it ideal for functions as well. There is also a large well well-equipped catering kitchen.

Externally, the pub has a beer garden, a separate smoking area and a large car park to the rear.
