About the Pub

Steeped in history, the Lion & Lamb is an 18th century farmhouse that now has an excellent reputation as a pub with home cooked food served alongside quality cask ales in a welcoming environment. With a large beer garden to the rear that offers an impressive children’s play area, this pub is popular amongst the locals and tourists alike who have welcomed and embraced the recent sympathetic full refurbishment and enhancements.

With exposed stone walls, polished floorboards, and ceiling beams throughout, the Lion & Lamb has a cosy, olde world atmosphere which welcomes you in. A central wooden bar serves the whole internal trading area which is made up of a comfortable lounge and restaurant. The lounge is carpeted with soft sofas and large windows, making it the perfect space to enjoy a drink with friends. The 80-cover restaurant has smart wooden furniture and is served by a comprehensive trade kitchen capable of producing a fine quality dining menu with standout specials.

The Lion & Lamb’s large beer garden is a beautiful feature that attracts a lot of visitors to the pub in the warmer months. Outside the rear doors is a patio area with two levels and several picnic benches. This is a lovely spot as the pub is surrounded by sweeping views over the Northumberland countryside. The garden also has an enclosed children’s play area for families who frequent the pub. To the side of the pub is a car park with spaces for up to 15 vehicles, however there is further car parking available in the village which is only a short walk away.
