About the Pub

Set in the beautiful village of Goring on Thames, The Miller of Mansfield is a dog friendly English 18th country inn with  a warm and friendly welcome, beautiful bedrooms, fresh homemade food and boasting a large array of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

Just a stones throw from the river Thames and set between two adjacent Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (The Chilterns and the North Wessex Downs) Goring on Thames is a popular spot for a weekend break or a stop off whilst walking the Thames path.

Whether you enjoy a hot chocolate by the log fire on a cold winter’s afternoon, a glass of wine on a summer’s evening on our beautiful terrace, The Miller of Mansfield is a perfect place to visit all year round.

The site has a close connection with the late George Michael, as this was his local pub.

The site benefits from a well-appointed large dining area, two snug bar areas that all flow in to each other. The areas are suitable for showing televised sports events also.

There are currently 13 beautifully appointed letting rooms spread over two floors with the possibility of one more with a little investment. They reflect 21st-century tastes amidst very 18th-century architecture. Each bedroom is individually decorated and designed. The bathrooms all have rain showers, some have baths. Some of the baths are even big enough for two. Original wooden floors have been paired with marble bathrooms and combined modern colours with period pieces. Given the age of the building, they’ve had to be creative with the space in some of the rooms.

There is an external courtyard patio area with over 60 covers which provides a beautiful, sheltered drinking and dining area.

In the grounds to the rear is a separate staff house with up to 4 bedrooms and a separate Managers/Publicans accommodation to the side of the business.

Parking for guests and customers is on the roadside or the close by village carparks.

It currently operates 7 days a week and opens from breakfast through to dinner. It has a well-appointed kitchen with plenty of food preparation areas and refrigerate storage.
