The Mitre is a well established community pub occupying a prominent position fronting onto Shipton Road. There are lots of chimneypots around, but the pub is also well positioned to attract passing trade from the busy Shipton Road, and has a car park to match. The pub offers a separate games room, which is popular as a venue for games teams and for watching sport, and a lounge which is used for live music and which offers a great area for diners.
There is a central L-shaped bar, with the games room off one return and the separate lounge off the other. The games room offers all the usual pub games, including pool and televised sports, and can accommodate up to 40 covers. The lounge offers a well-presented mix of fixed and loose seating for up to 80 covers. Live music is offered in the lounge on a weekly basis and is very popular. There is a compact trade kitchen which could be extended in the future, is currently installed with stainless steel appliances.
A beer garden is located to the side of the pub with a range of bench seating for up to 40 people and a smoking area. The large tarmac car park can accommodate approximately 25 vehicles.
