Stonegate Tees Up Support for CALM at Charity Golf Day

Stonegate Tees Up Support for CALM at Charity Golf Day

On World Suicide Prevention Day, Thursday 10 September 2026, Stratford-upon-Avon Golf Club welcomed 26 teams and 104 players for the Stonegate Colleague Charity Golf Day.

Bringing colleagues, supplier partners and supporters onto the course, the event combined friendly competition with an important purpose: generating vital funds for CALM and shining a spotlight on the charity's work to prevent suicide.

Putting for a purpose

Colleagues from across Stonegate took part in the event, joined by suppliers, volunteers and supporters who helped make the day possible.

Supplier support played a huge role, with holes sponsored and partners helping to bring the course to life through competitions and experiences. Diageo and Heineken sponsored the Platinum Partner holes, while Molson Coors supported as a Gold Partner. Suppliers were out in force, with Beavertown, Thatchers, Asahi, BrewDog, Jägermeister, Tiny Rebel and Timothy Taylor’s among the brands sponsoring holes and helping bring the course to life.

Coca-Cola and Monster also transformed the putting green into a lively hub for the day, complete with a putting challenge, DJ and cocktail bar.

Beyond sponsorship, suppliers generously donated raffle prizes and supported activities across the course, adding to the experience while helping drive the fundraising total for CALM.

Dan Castle, Managing Director of Pub Partners, and Mark Lamb, Operations Director of Craft Union, also attended, joining teams from across the business for the occasion.

Making every swing count

The Golf Day raised £11,300 for CALM, with donations generated through the event alongside a charity raffle featuring prizes provided by Stonegate's partners and suppliers.

The impressive prize line-up included Premier League tickets, live music experiences, hospitality packages, golf experiences and food and drink prizes, helping to drive even more donations.

Taking place on World Suicide Prevention Day gave the event an added significance. Beyond the money raised, it provided another opportunity to encourage open conversations around mental health and remind people of the importance of checking in with those around them.

For a business with pubs at the heart of communities across the country, creating spaces where people can connect and talk is especially meaningful.

Highlights from the course

There was plenty of healthy competition throughout the day, with challenges adding an extra element of fun across the course.

Players put their skills to the test with longest drive, nearest the pin and straightest drive competitions, while the Beat the Pro challenge provided another opportunity to claim bragging rights. The Trackman challenge on Hole 16 also gave players the chance to see just how far they could send their drive.

There was a fundraising twist too, with CALM charity challenges on selected holes. Landing in the designated water or bunker meant a donation from the whole team, turning a wayward shot into another opportunity to raise money for the charity.

Part of something bigger

The Golf Day is just one part of Stonegate's wider partnership with CALM. In only nine months, colleagues across the business have helped raise an incredible £500,000 through events, team challenges, charity till donations and other initiatives.

Reaching the milestone on World Suicide Prevention Day is a huge achievement, but the impact of the partnership goes beyond the amount raised. It's also about increasing awareness, starting conversations and encouraging people to look out for one another. Above all, the Golf Day showed the power of people getting behind a cause that matters and making a real difference.

A huge thank you

A brilliant day like this doesn’t happen without brilliant people behind it.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, sponsored a hole, donated a prize, bought a raffle ticket or worked behind the scenes to make the Golf Day such a success.

Every swing, donation and helping hand played a part, all while supporting CALM and the vital difference the charity makes every day.
